14 short weeks ago I was just a regular girl, living a fabulous life, but since the debut of The Real Housewives of Toronto, a lot has changed, but not how I expected. I never really thought of myself as “plus-size” I was always just, My Size, but debuting on TV with headlines such as “the first ever plus-size Housewife” and many interviews leading with questions about my body confidence, I realized I have a responsibility to help change the perceptions of beauty and what it means to be a stylish curvy woman. A huge part of that change is the growing and incredible support from all of you, my fans, my followers and now my ambassadors for the #MySizeRox movement. You have empowered me to change the way the world perceives women with curves, without curves, with small bums or large ones. You have given me a platform to change the way people judge bodies and beauty in the media, and I am so thankful. With your continued support and the growing energy around the #MySizeRox movement I have a feeling we are just getting started.14 weeks later I am still a regular girl leading a fabulous life, but now I am on a very clear and determined mission to ensure that my role on TV has a purpose that helps to inspire and change sizeism and judgement in fashion and media.

On a wintery weekend in Toronto the Ocean Club is the perfect luxury beach getaway. I have many friends who live on the island so this hotel is filled with wonderful memories for me. The first time I visted the Ocean Club my fantasy of being a Bond Girl came to life, as this romantic and lush oasis is the hotel where Casino Royale was filmed. There is something uniquely special about this little slice of paradise and it really does feel luxurious and relaxed. Dinners are easily arranged at the nearby Atlantis or on the larger island, I myself usually spend my days at the Ocean Club and head to Atlantis for dinner as they have some great restaurants like Nobu but my all time favourite is the The Ocean Club’s main restaurant Dune.
This hotel never feels over crowded and the staff to guest ratio is great. It has two main pools, one set in the gorgeous and tropical gardens, and a second infinity pool overlooking the ocean. The beach is perfect for afternoon strolls and the spa is small but wonderful. All in all this whole property feels intimate and quiet.
I recommend for everyone and anyone needing some pampering. The bonus of the OC is it allows you access to the larger Atlantis resort if days spent sipping rose and using indoor voices is too calm for you. My tip is to stay in the renovated side of the hotel as the rooms are vastly better than the older wing.
Hotel Raphael is all the things you dream a French hotel would be, luxe, historic, wrapped in red velvet and very quaint. The charming ambiance and beautiful suites mark this as a favourite among French fashion elite, who call this home during fashion week. Christian Louboutin says this is his favourite hotel in Paris and as soon as I walked in I could understand why. Upon arriving in the hotel I was offered a seat in a plush lounge and greeted with an espresso and a gorgeous treat while I waited for my suite. The suites are spacious and stately, featuring huge french windows that look out over the 16th arrondissement and have everything you expect from classic French luxury – including antique desks and art. Perhaps my favoruite feature of this hotel is the La Terrase Bar, the terrace bar on the roof of the hotel. The roof bar features incredible panoramic views of Paris with a chic and swanky atmosphere, making this the perfect spot to watch the Eiffel Tower light up at night with a glass of Perrie-Jouet Rose (my favourite champagne) in your hand.
